Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?

Welcome to my Personal Page! in support of  The Ride to Conquer Cancer - Melbourne Edition 2012 benefiting the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

The ride is a cycling journey throughout Victoria's scenic countryside that I'm embarking on to raise funds to help fight cancer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!

We will also be supported by many Volunteers and Crew Members who will provide meals, water and snacks along the course, gear transport, portable restrooms, safety on the streets, medical assistance, and a comfy overnight camp site, complete with tents, hot showers and maybe even a massage.

I am riding for the cause, because I am a patient of Peter Mac.  Over the last 2 years, I have had my share of operations, tests, treatments and therapy recommendations.  I have always been very fit, and while I remain healthy enough, I will join the 2012 Ride, and do my best to give as much back to the Peter Mac organisation and its wonderful people, as thanks for how they have supported me and my family, in the past, and for the future years of treatment I will undergo .  Hopefully, my and the other Rider's efforts will bring longer term benefits to many others unlucky enough to be touched by Cancer.

I have registered "Team Unicorn".  The name is derived from the Unicorn Foundation, an advocate for Australian patients and carers touched by Neuro-endocrine Tumours (NETS).

Please, join my team....it will be a lot of fun.

If this isn't possible, contribute to this history-making event with a donation. Funds raised in The Ride to Conquer Cancer will support Peter Mac, the only public hospital in Australia solely dedicated to cancer.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Paul, reading through your page and understanding what it means to you is truly inspirational.
My wife and I are also doing the ride and it is for the exact reasons you have stated about Peter Mac (my father in law is going there curently for treatment) that we have decided to take part.
If people like yourself can battle the daily issues with cancer, the least I can do is get on a bike and go for a ride and hopefully others will see the benefits in it all and contribute.
Well doneo n raising such a huge amount so far and good luck int he future.
Greg
