Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?

Welcome to my Personal Page! The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, is a cycling journey throughout Victoria's scenic countryside that I?m embarking on to fight cancer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!

My name is Deb Wren and I am the wife of John(Tunga) Wren who has been battling with Lymphoma since April, 2009.  When John came home after his visit to the doctors and broke the news to us, it was like a bomb had hit us.  We as a family have endured some large hurdles in our lives but nothing could have prepared us for this devasting news.  How could this happen to him, as he was such a fit man competing in marathons and triathlons and in younger years playing football for the Melton Football Club.

Since that day, John has had 2 years of some form of chemo,but unfortunately his body has not given him the results that we had hoped and prayed for.  Prior to Christmas he finished a course of radiation in readiness for a Stem Cell Replacement sometime in March this year.

My husband John is an amazing person,an inspiration to us all. Throughout all the treatment he has stayed positive and determined to beat this horrible disease.  He now hopes that the Stem Cell Replacement is successful and that he will be able to get on with his life and enjoy many more years with his family and friends. 

My 2 daughters and I with other friends will be participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer not only for John but for my 2 sisters, who have passed away from cancer and many other friends and families affected by this shocking disease.

In order for Tungas Troops to be able to ride in this history making event we need to raise a minimum of $2500.00 per rider to be able to take place in the ride. We will need your help, generosity and support to raise the minimum amount. If you could donate towards Tungas Troops ride to conquer cancer we will be truly grateful. Please pass on details of our journey to everyone you know as cancer will affect 1 in 2 people in their lifetime and we want everyone to help make a difference.
