Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?

Hi my name is Carly and welcome to my Personal Page! The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, is a cycling journey throughout Victoria's scenic countryside that I?m embarking on to fight cancer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!

My inspiration to partake in the ride is my dad John Wren who was diagnosed with Cancer almost 3 years ago. I remember it as clear as day...the moment that changed our lives forever. Dad returned home from a routine Doctors appointment after noticing some unusual lumps in several areas of his body and unfortunately it wasn't good news. When the words Cancer came out of dad's mouth there was a moment of silence followed by a rush of emotion. Nothing prepares you for the shock of hearing of one of the people you love most in the world being diagnosed with such a life threatening condition as Lymphoma which is the most common form of haematological or blood cancer in Australia, and the sixth most common form of cancer overall

Dad's reaction...well it was nothing like ours, he simply shrugged it off and said it's just another hurdle in life, he still remains with this positive attitude. There's a lot to say about John Wren, he's a loving husband, amazing dad and a caring and thoughtful friend. If there is anything he can do to help someone out he will do it, so it's now our chance to show our appreciation by doing something to show our support not only to him but also to other cancer sufferers and their family members enduring the same journey.

Tunga's Troups (dedicated to dad's home town Tungamah) is a close knit team consisting of friends and family all who love and care for my dad as much as I do, being led by three beautiful people Domenic Grero and Gus & Karen Paterson. In order to join this team and embark on the ride to conquer cancer I need all of your support to raise as much money as possible towards this cause. All funds raised will support Peter Mac, the only public hospital in Australia solely dedicated to cancer.
