Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?

Update: 24th December 2011, Cinty Humphries lost her fight against this insidious disease.  Rest now my love

Well, what a ride (no pun intended) we have had!!!! Approximately 18 months ago, Cinty and I were travelling all over England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and over much of the continent. We were having a wonderful time, seeing many of the wonders that Europe has to offer. For 6 months we travelled and experienced many wonderful things. We arrived home and started to plan a semi-permanent move over the UK. Things were going well.

One day Cinty went to the doctors, as she was finding swallowing difficult. Off we went in late February and had a gastroscopy performed. Then our lives changed for ever. Our consulting physician immediately sent us off for some scans, 2 days later he had us referred to an oncologist. Cinty was diagnosed with incurable stomach cancer!

Surgery was not an option as the cancer had already spread to the lymph nodes, ovaries and signs on the liver. Within 2 weeks, after many more scans and tests, chemotherapy began.

Cinty was able to get on a special trial for gastric cancer treatments and had dramatic results. People were amazed at how ell she responded. We were so pleased. At the end of the 6 months of chemo treatment, the oncologist said "Now is the time to travel."  So we booked another holiday. This time we were off England, Scotland and Norway to chase the northern lights. One week later, however, Cinty was back in hospital, and oncologist said, no you are not travelling.

Why? The cancer has returned, and returned with a vengeance. Now we are in and out of hospital fighting and fighting hard. We are now onto a third different type of chemo. Fighting all the way, never give up the fight. There is too much to live for.

I saw the advert for the Conquer Cancer Ride on TV on night after visiting Cinty in hospital and thought, yes, let's help Peter Mac find a cure/s for cancer.

Please support us in our fight to make cancer just another thing you go to the doctors for and get a jab!

100% of your donation goes to Peter Mac

Thank you in advance for your help

Logan Birthday
We ventured up to Sydney to celebrate Logan 1st Birthday. It was a long trip with a few hold ups on the way, but we made it. We were thrilled to see how much Logan has grown and how much personality he has. Our time was short however the time we spent with Tony, Ali and Logan was great. All being well we see them all again mid-January when Harrison is due to be born. Grandchild number 3

Cinty Update
Cinty is currently doing OK. Last week she only need one tap procedure performed. What a relief. We had a good weekend. Troy and I went on our first bike, 30KM round trip. OOOO arghhh... Then on Sunday Cinty and I went to the Jaguar Concours. Our car achieved a silver in the enthusiasts, for Class M. Cinty was so please. Have to work harder next year. By the time we arrived home she was pretty whacked. SO an easy night and Monday was an easy day also.
