Mesobusters are on a quest. We have decided to team up in The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. It?s a cycling journey throughout Victoria's scenic countryside in two days.


We're here because we know that cancer is too big a disease to ignore. It affects everyone, maybe you, me, our parents, kids, siblings or friends. Sadly, maybe all of the above. But by riding in this event we are doing something about it. We're rolling closer and closer to the end of cancer. It?s an awesome triumph in a physical sense and emotionally as well.

I decided to form mesobusters to create awareness of Mesothelioma, a terminal lung cancer that took my Mum's life in 2009. It is caused by inhaling asbestos fibres/dust. There can be a delay of 15-30 years after inhalation of the fibre before the disease makes its presence felt. Most people think this is a miners disease or a tradesperson disease-my Mum was a teacher. We are dedicated to promoting awareness of this cancer because it is preventable. Only asbestos can cause mesothelioma, so if our community is aware of the dangers of asbestos and the precautions to take when handling this substance, just as we are cigarette smoking, we could prevent this cancer.  

Prevention is better than cure.
