Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer  to be held 28/29 october 2012  HI MY NAME IS ROY STEWART.

I am 48 years old i've just spent the best part of 2011 on Interferon / ribavirin CHEMO CLINICAL TRIAL Treatment for HEP C  that had caused stage two liver desease . a grauling treatment . . i have lost both my parents to  CANCER  . and my oldest brother BOB STEWART  back on treatment now after 5 years in remission for prostate cancer . i also have a very close freind who has recently passed away terminal  organ cancer ALSO IN 2011 LOST more freinds and work mates to different forms of cancers ..i am so proud of all my acheivements so far in  fighting my illness , with a clinical trial at the ALFRED HOSP . i have put names of both my parents and freinds who have lost there fight to  cancer and hep c and depression on my bike frame i am inspired by  so many brave people in my life including " DARREN JOHN ELLWOOD ", who rode a bike from sydney to brisbane  for hep c awareness and to break the stigma ...and also Deb De Williams  who ran around australia  and has released a book called " RUNNING PINK " she is a breast cancer survivor , please go out and buy her book .   CANCER IS NOT SOMETHING TO MUCK AROUND WITH OR TO IGNORE SIGNS . please get tested at the slightest signs .as early detection is certainly the key ....

I am getting results within weeks  but i have been told i am all clear from my  72 week treatment and outlook is looking very positive  to a great outcome . and i can get my life back on track  and so looking forward to training and doing this ride , and the fun part  getting out there raising  support and donations... i live in country vic at ballarat , im a truck driver ex long distance now a local driver in melbourne  lets all get behind this  cause , as it will effect 1 in 2 australians with some form of cancer during there life time .... im still not 100% but im out there training up now riding roughly anything from 40 klm to 200 klm per week  in and around ballarat and other area's, till i get my strength back then road trips..  ( LETS DO THIS ).... from 10/12/11/ till  14/6/12. I have clocked up around  2200  klm ...

***************  "  RISE    ABOVE "  ***************I am a local guy doing his bit for the cause , to help fund the peter mac into research in finding cures for many cancers , THE PETER Mc CALLUM   is leading the way in research into cancer !!  this ride will cover 200 + klm over 2 days beginning in Melb city area and out to yarra valley  where we all spend an enoyable night  then return the next day .. its the first time this ride has happened in melb , last year it was held in august in brisbane  where there were 1800 riders and they raised  a massive 4.7 million ,, this time there are already over 3000 registered and each rider must raise a minimum $ 2.500 so im asking local people and buisnesses to help me by donating and sponsoring me in this epic ride to conquer cancer  ... i was told in november 2011 to ride a bike to help build my muscles and strength  back after my horrid year on chemotherapy then i seen this ride adverticed on tv so i rang up and signed up straight away i am detirmened to  begin and to finish this epic ride,, My hair is growing back. im back at work and im getting stronger by the day , but a serious illness can really rock your world and change many things around you , your life will never be the same again .. strength in numbers ,is the best way to tackle and fight back and to help fund to find cures for life threatning cancers ..
