We, Matt’s Mates @ Telstra Super are on a conquest!!!  We are teaming up with our mate and work colleague Matthew Regli by joining him in a cycling journey throughout scenic Victoria over two days in October....... our cycling journey is The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the only public hospital in Australia solely dedicated to the treatment of and research into cancer.  

Cancer has affected most of us in some way throughout our lives.... whether you have been a sufferer yourself or perhaps a loved one, a sibling or child, parent or partner in life or friend has been a sufferer ......  we all are well aware cancer does not discriminate!  Together we can try and help the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre move forward in its research, treatment and ultimately in its fight to find a cure for cancer

For our team, Matt’s Mates @ Telstra Super, The Ride to Conquer Cancer will be a physical challenge charged with emotion.  Matthew Regli is not only our work colleague, but our friend and his story has inspired us to participate with him in the Ride to Conquer Cancer..... we want to help the cause, we want to support our mate .... we want to help in any way we can!   

Matt’s wife Kylie was diagnosed with cancer six years ago.  With the support of her husband Matt, family and friends, work and school communities and the medical team at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Kylie continues to battle this disease and continuously defeats the odds and is an amazing woman in the true sense of the word.  Kylie has undergone multiple operations, several courses of chemotherapy whilst maintaining the ability to manage work, give birth to their second daughter Eloise as well as provide the support and guidance to their eldest daughter Adrienne throughout her kindergarten years and first years of primary school.  Adrienne and Eloise provide endless joy and happiness to both Matt and Kylie and we as Matt’s Mates @ Telstra Super want to sustain the endless joy and happiness in this special family’s life.

Sadly on 5th August 2012, Kylie lost her battle against cancer.  Kylie’s passing makes our Team more determined in our efforts to raise funds to assist further research into the cause and treatment of all forms of cancer which is at the core of the work undertaken at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
